How Does The Literature Of This Country Communicate Its Values?
First Grade kicked off the week with a Cinderella comparison to Yeh-Shen. Students created a story map of the traditional story they are familiar with and then listened to a read aloud of Yeh-Shen. The two stories were compared through the use of a Venn Diagram.
The students will also have the opportunity to listen to the stories Tikki Tikki Tembo, The Real Story of Stone Soup, and Mulan.
The Chinese New Year captivated our interest and we read a short story call D is for Dragon.
