What Individuals Have Made Influential Contributions To This Culture?

Day 1

Demonstration:

Anastasia: A Russian Mystery

Anastasia's Story

"Anastasia" full length video

Exploration:

Write a short biography of Anastasia including events in her life and why she is still remembered today.

 

Students worked hard to create Anastasia projects in technology class.

 

 

Day 2

Demonstration:  

Mikhail Gorbachev

"Gorbachev": Nobel Prize Winner

Exploration:

Write a short biography of Gorbachev including accomplishments that led to his winning of the Nobel Prize.

Alexey Pajitinov

Alexey Pajitnov: Inventor of Tetris

Exploration:

Students experiment with playing tetris in the computer lab

Tetris Game Site

 

Day 4

Demonstration:

Discussion of all three famous Russians.  Compare and contrast them in relation to success traits.

Exploration:

Split class into three groups.  Students create a project to feature one of the famous russians studied.
